I am a fairly new photographer who enjoys taking action pictures at volleyball and basketball games. I am looking for a dslr that will be able to take the best quality pictures at high speeds without having to drop 1900 bucks on a camera. Id say My limit for prices is about 1200 bucks, give or take a few. I have been practicing with my G10 but I use that strictly for underwater photography, macro, and some landscape pictures. I want a versatile yet very proficient camera for action shots as well as landscape. Please help, trying to figure out one before christmas!!!!!!
Hey,
Your limit is about 1200$, which means you can get a good DSLR for your needs.
I recommend you to buy the Canon EOS 40D or D90.
The 40D has 10 megapixels, 6.3fps, Live View, is a solid, semi-pro camera with great image quality. It’s auto focus is very fast, it’s also meant for sport, wildlife and news photographers.
The D90 has 12 megapixels, 4.5fps which is also good, HD video recording, good image quality.
They both have ISO up to 6400 and they are both are usable to ISO 1600/3200.
I have wrote an article on my blog about ‘Which DSLR to buy’,what’s important, what’s not, which models are good for certain people etc. You can read it here, I also recommend some DSLRs – http://the-digital-photographer.blogspot.com/2009/11/what-dslr-should-i-buy.html
